Kitsap Peninsula is part of the
Olympic Peninsula. It is the eastern "thumb" of the
peninsula. Arriving by ferry, visitors first encounter

A short drive through Kitsap County, takes visitors to
the Hood Canal Bridge, which is the "Gateway to the
Olympic Peninsula".
Port Ludlow(Map),
Quilcene
and Brinnon(Map)
are on the North Hood Canal. Union, Hoodsport and Shelton
are on the South Hood Canal.
The Pacific Ocean beaches
dominate the western Olympic Peninsula. Beachcombing in
La Push and Kalaloch. The Hoh Rain Forest is south of
Forks(Map).

Grays Harbor is the
recreational center of the South Olympics. The largest
cities are Aberdeen and Hoquim. Visit Ocean Shores,
Westport, Grayland, North Cove and Tokeland. Mason County
is a recreational destination along Hood Canal. The
largest city is Shelton. Olympia is Washington's State
capital.
