The ferries serving Seattle have terminals close to each other on the waterfront.TheWashington State Ferry terminal is at Pier 52. The terminal serves vehicles and passengers to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton and foot passengers to Kitsap county and Vashon Island. Clipper Navigation's passenger ferries arrive at and depart from Pier 69. The Victoria Clipper offers direct passenger service between Seattle and Victoria. Along the waterfront are stores and restaurants located on the piers extending out into Elliott Bay. There are tourist attractions on the piers. and Pike Place Market is a short walk up the hill.
A short walk from the Seattle waterfront is the downtown shopping area centered on the Westlake Mall. Seattle's large department stores are in this area of town.

There are many hotels in downtown Seattle, some within walking distance of the waterfront and the ferry docks. Transportation is available from downtown to the airport and to the bus station. Taxi cabs pick up and deliver passengers along the waterfront.

Pioneer Square is just a block up from the waterfront on First Avenue, between downtown and the Kingdome. The Square has art galleries, retail stores and some restaurants.
