Bainbridge Island
Bainbridge Island is a busy entry point to the Kitsap and Olympic
Peninsulas. The island's ferry terminal provides regular access across Puget
Sound to and from Seattle. Three large marinas in Eagle Harbor dominate
the waterfront near the ferry terminal. Shops and eateries are in walking
distance of the ferry terminal and marinas. The island is a popular destination
of bicycle enthusiasts. Contact the Chamber office for maps and scenic bike
routes.
Picnics can be enjoyed at city parks, nearby beaches, Fay Bainbridge
State Park with its wide-angle view of metro Seattle, and at Fort
Ward State Park, a day-use park on the quiet side of Rich Passage.
The Bainbridge Island Winery is a short
walk from the ferry terminal. The winery features a vineyard, tasting room,
picnic area and wine museum. The winery is on Highway 305 on the right side
of the highway as you drive our of the ferry terminal.
While on the island a great retreat can be found at the Island Country
Inn.
