Aberdeen & Hoquiam

Aberdeen and Hoquiam share the largest and deepest harbor on the west coast of the United States. From Aberdeen/Hoquiam roads lead west to the Pacific Ocean, north to the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, south along highway 101 to Oregon, and east to Olympia and I-5.

The discovery of the harbor by Capt. Robert Gray in 1792 and its nautical history are the themes for revitalization of both communities and the formation of the Seaport Authority's Tall Ships Project.
Aberdeen Historical Museum and Hoquiam Polson's Museum have fine collections dedicated to the logging industry. Guided tours of a private,20-room mansion, Hoquiam Castle, are available for a fee. Hoquiam's Public Library is a piece of living history. Hoquiam is a town whose homes are fine examples of Northwest shingle art.

For accommodations in Hoquiam stay at Westwood Inn.
